1 aSing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones;
Praise is bbecoming to the upright.
2Give thanks to the Lord with the clyre;
Sing praises to Him with a dharp of ten strings.
3Sing to Him a enew song;
Play skillfully with fa shout of joy.
4For the word of the Lord gis upright,
And all His work is done hin faithfulness.
5He iloves righteousness and justice;
The jearth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.

6By the kword of the Lord the heavens were made,
And lby the breath of His mouth mall their host.
7He gathers the nwaters of the sea together
Some versions read in a water skin; i.e. container
as a heap;
He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
8Let pall the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world qstand in awe of Him.
9For rHe spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it
Or stood forth
stood fast.
10The Lord tnullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11The ucounsel of the Lord stands forever,
The vplans of His heart from generation to generation.
12Blessed is the wnation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has xchosen for His own inheritance.

13The Lord ylooks from heaven;
He zsees all the sons of men;
14From aaHis dwelling place He looks out
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
15He who abfashions
Or their heart together
the hearts of them all,
He who adunderstands all their works.
16 aeThe king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not delivered by great strength.
17A afhorse is a false hope for victory;
Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.

18Behold, agthe eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who
Or wait
,
aihope for His lovingkindness,
19To ajdeliver their soul from death
And to keep them alive akin famine.
20Our soul alwaits for the Lord;
He is our amhelp and our shield.
21For our anheart rejoices in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
22Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us,
According as we have
Or waited for
hoped in You.
